TRACK AND FIELD

SELECTION GUIDELINES

Member coaches of the Texas Girls Coaches Association have the privilege

of nominating an outstanding athlete to be named as Athlete of the Year in track and an

oustanding athlete to be named as Athlete of the Year in field events.

The head varsity coach of any athlete or support staff receiving an award must be a member

in good standing by the membership nomination deadline. This also applies to Athletes of the

Year, Coach of the Year, and All-Star Coach honors.

All nomination forms must be sent to TGCA by:

Nominees must fulfill the following requirements:

1. May be selected from any grade level 9-12.

2. Be an outstanding athlete in her sport.

3. Demonstrate positive character traits (honesty, loyalty,

            leadership, cooperative attitude).

Two Athletes of the Year will be selected for Track and two Athletes of the Year will be selected for Field Events at the UIL Track and Field State Meet; two athletes from a 1A-2A-3A-4A school and two athletes from a 5A-6A school.
